12th Martinique Underwater Video Challenge: “Tropical Underwater Pictures”
12th Martinique Underwater Video Challenge
“Tropical Underwater Pictures”
For all professional and amateur video enthusiasts:
Here we go! The 12th Martinique Underwater Video Challenge is under way
Why a challenge?
Martinique has been hosting an Underwater Picture Festival for the last 18 years, and since 2000 it has become a stepping stone in the West Indies for the famous Antibes World Festival of Underwater Pictures.
Since 2001, a video challenge founded by our audiovisual commission has been under way to enable local video enthusiasts to present pictures of the Caribbean seabed. Visitors and tourists who have come to the region for deep-sea diving adventures also often kindly send us their pictures. Local inhabitants are also delighted to see these images of their regional marine environment.
Once again, we have launched the 12th edition of the Martinique Underwater Video Challenge, which is open to professional and amateur video enthusiasts from Martinique or elsewhere. The focus is on one topic—presenting pictures of the Caribbean Sea and this year, in response to public demand, pictures from tropical seas worldwide.
How it works
The Challenge is open to all professional and amateur video enthusiasts. From 23 January to 27 March 2012, candidates are required to make a short video film on an open topic and at least 50% of the film must be taken underwater. Candidates may also sent in videos that they have made within the last 2 years.
